Northstar Events & Activities

At Northstar Care & Support, we believe that getting involved in activities, events, and community experiences can make a powerful difference to wellbeing, confidence, and connection.

Beyond everyday support, shared experiences help build purpose, social bonds, and opportunities to challenge yourself — whether that’s through sport, hobbies, or community events.

Team & Social Activities

We are actively looking to form groups for PWS who enjoy friendly competition, teamwork, and social activity. This includes activities such as:

  • Five-a-side football teams — great for fitness, teamwork and social connection

  • Pool & darts teams — perfect for friendly competition and building confidence

  • Quiz teams — encouraging problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and inclusive social participation

We welcome individuals who want to join in as part of a supportive group, as well as those who prefer individual hobbies or quieter activities. The aim is to support people in participating at a pace and style that feels right for them.

Local Community Events (March – June)

There’s also a calendar of events across the Fylde Coast and wider Lancashire that we encourage people to explore as part of building routines, enjoying new experiences, and connecting with the community:

  • Fleetwood Promenade parkrun — every Saturday morning, a welcoming community run, jog, walk or volunteer opportunity on the promenade in Fleetwood.

  • Lancashire Hawks and Owls at Barton Grange Garden Centre (11th April) — a nature-focused event showcasing beautiful birds and wildlife.

  • Cleveleys Car Show 2026 (7th June) — classic cars and family-friendly entertainment on the Fylde Coast.

  • CineWyre Film Festival (26th February – 1st March) — four days of film and storytelling, celebrating world cinema (note this crosses into early Spring).

There are also regular community-based events and activities listed through local calendars that change month to month, so we encourage individuals and families to check community guides and visitor listings for up-to-date details.

Why This Matters

Taking part in activities — whether sporty, social, creative, or simple outings — supports routine building, confidence and broader community engagement. We’re here to support individuals in finding events and activities that align with their interests and comfort levels, and to join in meaningfully where possible.

If you’re interested in joining our teams, exploring local events together, or want support attending something new, get in touch — we’re always happy to help find the right opportunities for you.
